A George IV silver inkstand


A very attractive George IV silver inkstand, dated London 1825. Comprising of cut glass ink, quill and pounce pots and with a small chamber stick. The stand having gadrooned border, floral decoration and standing on four winged, paw feet. With two pen rests and engraved with a gift inscription in Latin explaining that it was a gift by an M. W. Ridley to a Jacob Joyce: ‘Hoc pignus amicitia preceptora suo merito dilecto Jacobo Joyce donat M. W. Ridley‘.
